Sewing Books

Look what was on my door step yesterday!!

(click on any photo to enlarge it)
A friend of mine borrowed this book from the library,
which reminds me I still have to give it back to you Stacy.
We looked through the book and I loved it!
I wanted to keep it, so I went to amazon.com and ordered it!

It is so cute I just love it sitting on my sewing table!
There are material lists and lots of tips.
and all the patterns are in an envelope inside the book.
The skirts, dresses, tops and coats are so pretty
I want to make all of them right now!
Kay Whitt is the author and the designer,
and she describes in detail all the steps
and tricks to make all of the projects in the book.
The steps look easy while the end results look stylish and complicated.
I can't wait to get started!
Kay also has a blog here which I just started following :)

Here are some photos from her book:

I have a doctor's looking coat that I am so going to remake into this number!

While searching for that book, I found this book:
And ordered it too :)

I already looked through it and I am convinced that
this is the best book for beginner sewists!
Not only is everything spelled out for you step by step,
there are color photos, shopping lists and side notes!
There are 11 projects and 4 mini projects
and all the patterns are on a CD!
So you can print out whichever size you want...
How cool is that?!
Deborah Moebes is the author and designer,
and also has a blog here
I'm following her now too :)

Here are some photos from her book:

I love how she uses a regular sewing machine
not a super fancy one, showing us that
even a simple sewing machine can make gorgeous clothes

I can't wait to start on some of these projects :)

  2. Oh I saw this book featured at another blog a while back and seriously fell in love with the designs. SO cute! I would love to be able to sew something wearable but as I demonstrated in my cushion post, sewing and I are not the best of friends (yet). :)

Can't wait to see what you make!!
