New Home, New School Area

The first year that we lived here, we did our school work on the couch, floor, or kitchen table and that drove me nuts.  As you may know, our educational philosophy is traditional and we thrive in a classroom-like setting. As a result, the following school year ('15-'16) I designed one!

And that is what I want to share with you today, of course! Yes, it's the end of the school year, but it's never too late to share such awesomeness ♥

ISN'T IT WONDERFUL?!

I purchased these 2 cube and 4 cube organizer shelves, shelf inserts, to separate each of the top cubes for more surface space, and the fabric cube storage bins all from Target.

The next step was to hide all the tv and media wires. I purchased one of these behind-the-wall wire concealers and installed it all by myself! A pat on the back for that one ;)

Then to install the shelves that Mr. Chickadee built to my specifications and I painted.

The desk panel was also built and painted to my specifications and then attached to the organizers with screws.. It is quite sturdy and in one solid piece.

The shelves all filled up with Bob Jones University curriculum for 4 students...

The finished project! I think it all came out rather perfectly ♥
The yellow chairs and white hanging cups (hanging on 2 rails) are from IKEA
And the hanging globe from Amazon.

I hope our school set up has given you some new ideas for your own school area for next year.

Have a wonderful summer everyone!
