Homeschooling

We have previously used A Beka on dvd, Bob Jones on dvd, and free websites to home school our Chickadees.

Due to funds, this year we will be using the free online Christian curriculum we have used before:
Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool

For the kindergartner, I am mostly using Teach Your Child To Read In 100 Easy Lessons
with random booklets I find at the Dollar Tree.

And all the Chickadees are learning to read in Russian using this specific Букварь

This year (2017-2018) we have children in Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th grade.

Our educational philosophy is very traditional.
The traditional approach to homeschooling parallels a typical classroom.
Grade level textbooks, workbooks, and teacher’s manuals are used.
Tests, grades, and schedules are a normal part of traditional schooling.
Many families using this approach will have a mini-classroom set up in their home.
Check out our classrooms that we've had in some of the places we've lived.. here and here.

Most homeschooling families will suggest that before you decide which home school curriculum to use with your children, that you first find out which home school philosophy best fits your family.

Take this quiz to see which educational philosophies best match your family:
What Kind Of Homeschooler Are You?

Here is a list that briefly describes each philosophy
