Although this beautiful study bible has a hard cover, with daily use I thought it needed extra protection. Instead of buying a cover for it, I decided to make one.. I purchased some leather and sinew and went to work..
Unfortunately Michael's does not carry large pieces of leather, so I ended up getting 3 pieces that were 8.5"x11" to cover the large bible. I pieced them together with the sinew in a cross stitch pattern; to give it some character.
I measured and premade all the holes before stitching to ensure even spacing.
Then I folded the edges under the cover and stitched them in place.
I think it turned out very well...
if I do say so myself..
