Owl Slippers {Free Crochet Pattern}

My sister LOVES owls. I sewed her an owl apron for Christmas and when she told me she was looking for a new pair of slippers,  I decided to make her a pair of owl ones!

I didn't have a pattern to follow so I just "winged" it. I wrote the pattern down as I made one of the slippers so that I can make the other without trying to remember what I did. So here it is!

You may make and sell products from my patterns,
but if you do, I ask that you give me credit.
 I have created these patterns myself.

Materials:

Abbreviations:
Yarn: Medium 4 weight yarn, I used "sugar 'n cream" yarn. 5 colors: green, pink, white, orange, and turquoise.
Hook: Size H
Buttons, scissors, needle.

ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
st(s) = stitch(es)

Notes:
When joining rnds, do not sl st into top of chs, sl st into the first st.
These slippers are a size 8.5, other sizes may be available soon.
Ch 2 counts as 1 dc.
Dc2tog counts as 1 dc

Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, join with a sl st to 1st dc. (20 dc)

With a scrap of pink yarn, sew heel shut, on the inside of slipper.

  2. Good idea for our church Xmas Bazaar. This is a community fundraiser for ten local non-profits. I will even put tags on the slippers I make. Thanks.

    1. You could adjust this pattern to a smaller slipper.. for a 3 year old, I would start with narrowing and shortening the tube portion.. maybe in round 2, instead of 2 dc in each st, try (1dc, 2dc) repeat around to make a total of 15 dc. Then 2-3 rounds of dc around (15dc). And maybe 2 rows of the heel portion (10 dc) and reduce in the last 2 rows. You will have to play around with it.

    1. Try reducing the number of stitches in round 23 from 30dc to 20dc, 22dc, or 24dc.. and then reduce the number of rows in rounds 7-11. How many rows depends on the length of the foot. Hope this helps.
